Black Meteors Secure First Leg U-23 AFCON Qualifier Win In Mozambique

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) commends the Black Meteors for securing a crucial first leg victory in their AFCON Under-23 Qualifying Match this afternoon.

The Meteors recorded a 2-1 away victory over Mozambique in Maputo to take a huge step towards reaching Morocco 2023.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s charges were buoyed by a solid team performance on the back of a brace from skipper Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to overcome a determined onslought from the home side.

With the second leg slated for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi next week Sunday 30th October, the PFAG expresses its unwavering confidence in the Team’s ability to succesfully complete the mission at hand and advance to the final round of qualifiers in March next year.

As the mother body of all professional footballers in the country, the PFAG will continue to back the team all the way to Morocco 2023 as the Meteors seek to annex the continental crown and secure a slot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Football Tournament.

Kudos Coach Tanko and the entire Team.

The PFAG continues to stand with you and for you!!
