MANAGEMENT TEAM

Mr. Anthony Baffoe is the founder of the association (PFAG). He played for the Ghana’s Black Stars from 1991-1994. Mr. Baffoe started his football career in Germany with FC Köln, Fortuna Düsseldorf, and Stuttgart and later moved to play with OGC Nice and FC Metz in France.

 

Mr. Baffoe is a member of the FIFA Football Committee, FIFA Taskforce against racism and discrimination. In October 2014 he was appointed to join the International Football Association Board’s panel of adviser. He is also a General Coordinator for FIFA and CAF sanctioned tournaments.

 

Mr. Baffoe serves on the Technical Committee and the Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Mr. Baffoe is also an ambassador for many world charity organizations. Mr. Baffoe is responsible for the strategic direction of the Association in relation to the following;

  1. Relationship building between the Association and other stakeholder groupslike the Ghana Football Association, the Ministry of Sports etc.
  2. Developing and implementing the Strategic direction of the Association Strategic direction in relation to standard contracts for all players in Ghana Individual players representation
  3. Day to day running of the Association
  4. Membership drive
  5. Pension Fund Set up

Mr. Solomon Torson is an Ex-footballer and a chartered Accountant. Having had stings with Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic, Mr. Torson proceeded to pursue a Chartered Accountants course at the Emile Woolf Colleges in London, UK and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1998.

 

Mr. Torson is the Financial Controller for the Association and the Deputy General Secretary of the Association. He also serves on the Finance Committee of FIFPro Mr. Torson’s responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Managing the day to day financial activities of the Association
  • Relationship building between the Association and other stakeholder groups like the Ghana Football Association, the Ministry of Sports etc.
  • Developing and implementing the Strategic direction of the Association
  • Strategic direction in relation to standard contracts for all players in Ghana
  • Individual players representation
  • Day to day running of the Association
  • Membership drive
  • Pension Fund Set up

LEGAL TEAM

Thomas Boakye-Agyeman is in his 30’s, born and raised in Kumasi. He majored in Law and History in his education.

He was the Repertoire, Secretary and Spokesperson of the Justice Dzamefe led Commission of Inquiry into Brazil FIFA World Cup 2014.  Affectionately called Tomm Krugger, he has worked with reputable media houses and is also a Director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club.

He’s been in the journalism and Sports Administration for over 15 years and is currently the Deputy General Secretary of Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG).

Stephen Aidoo

A former player of Sekondi XI Wise and Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs, Stephen joined the PFAG in 2017 as a member of the Association’s Player Relations Office, with specific duties detailed to the Western and Central Regions. His role is to offer representation for the Association while helping bring all professional footballers in those regions under the unifying umbrella of the PFAG.

Philip Asewa

Former Medeama SC forward, Philip Aseweh is a member of the PFAG’s Player Relations Office. Famed for his on-field exploits as well as his impressive academic prowess, Philip has had successful stints at Virginia Tech and Liberty University in the United States, as well as a prolific spell donning the Yellow and Mauves. His primary role with the PFAG is to help in the management of player welfare issues.

Husni Mubarak Murtala

Husni Mubarak is a long serving member of the PFAG since the 2010 who is a IT and security professional and is in charge website administration as well as the information technology innovation strategy drive of PFAG.

Victor Hagan

A former sports caster and lead TV anchor who possesses a keen passion for player welfare, Victor plays a key role as a member of the Association’s Communications Department. He is primarily in charge of content on the Association’s website, and also helps drive strategic content initiatives.

Dorcas Fumey

Affectionately known in footballing circles as “Faraday”, Dorcas who is a footballer for Police Ladies FC brings her rich experience to bear on the PFAG as a Women’s Player Relations Official and a Production Assistant for PFAG TV. She contributes to the creative process of the channel and looks out for the welfare of professional women’s footballers in the country.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM

Catherine Brenya is a long-serving member of the PFAG’s Administrative team with a primary duty of assisting with preparation of final accounts. Additionally, Catherine is tasked with providing administrative support at the PFAG’s Head Office.

Wilberforce Gyawu Junior Addo

Wilberforce Addo has been with the PFAG since 2020, and doubles as an Administrative Assistant in the Association’s Head Office as well as a member of the Player Relations Office. His background in Finance and Statistics serves as an invaluable resource in his day to day office tasks including generating reports and conducting face to face interviews.

Rafiatu Haruna

Rafiatu joined the PFAG in 2017. She is instrumental in managing the front desk and also plays an invaluable role in assisting players with the procedural elements in lodging complaints and detailing their activities.
