The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has expressed its delight at the impending return of competitive domestic club football on all levels this weekend to add further spice to the festive cheer all around the nation.

The Ghana Premier League takes centre stage with nine games to kick-start the revamped 18 team top-flight League competition, followed by the start of the National Division One League, Women’s League and Youth Football competitions in the new year.

The PFAG, as mother body of all professional footballers in Ghana, is pleased at the prospect of ushering in a new and improved era of competitive club football in the country, and the chance for our members, the professional footballers, to exhibit their talents and thrill local football fans once again.

We congratulate the leadership of the Ghana Football Association and all stakeholders for their efforts at streamlining the domestic game and ensuring the much anticipated return of the nation’s one true passion lives up to all expectations.

We also wish the organizers, teams and teeming football fans well as they look to enjoy domestic football action at all league centres once again after a testing 18-month hiatus.

Over the course of the season, we encourage fans to pack the various match venues to capacity, and urge all our members to put up their very best as they exhibit their individual brilliance and showcase the team ethic that has long characterized the beautiful game here in Ghana!

The PFAG also extends its best Christmas and New Year wishes to all during this festive time of the year. May the coming year bring us all glad tidings!
