The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, PFAG has noted with deep sorrow reports of the untimely death of former Bechem United player, Peter Essien.
The unfortunate news of Essien’s demise broke in the late hours of Thursday 13th February 2025.
The talented player made a name for himself as a member of the national Under-17 men’s team, the Black Starlets who emerged as silver medalists at the 2005 U-17 African Nations Championship staged in the Gambia.
He further cemented his growing status by securing a spot on the Starlets team that played at the FIFA U-17 World Cup later that year in Peru.
The PFAG, as mother body for all professional footballers in the country, is truly saddened to learn of Essien’s untimely demise.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones on behalf of all our members.
May the soul of Peter Essien find eternal rest in the bosom of our Lord.
