PFAG Denounces Hooliganism In Ghana Football

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has condemned in no uncertain terms the purported acts of hooliganism and lawlessness that characterised the Ghana Premier League Week 19 clash between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday 2nd February, 2025.

The unacceptable and tragic events at the Nana Kronamansah Park, which reportedly led to the loss of a life, injuries to fans and damage to property, have left a scourge on the face of our top flight domestic football league and have no place in our attempts to promote the beautiful sport we so pasionately love here in Ghana.

As mother body of all professional footballers in the country, the PFAG views hooliganism as a threat to the players, the fans and the very establishment of the nation’s favourite game.

The PFAG strongly condemns such acts, and is calling for concerted efforts to be made to curb this detrimental development.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, and pray for rapid recovery for all those who suffered any injuries on the day.

It remains the hope and expectation of the PFAG that our beautiful game here in Ghana continues to grow from strength to strength and that all stakeholders will join hands to push for greater professionalism on the domestic scene.
