PFAG Hails Double Continental Success for Dreams FC and Medeama SC

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has hailed the remarkable feats achieved by the country’s two continental club representatives in reaching the lucrative group phase of their respective CAF inter-club competitions over the weekend.

Defending league champions, Medeama SC secured their qualification to the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League by posting an impressive 4-3 aggregate win over Guinean powerhouses Horoya AC.

The Mauve and Yellow Warriors made history by becoming the first Ghanaian team to make the group phase of the continent’s top tier club competition since 2012/2013 after backing up their impressive 3-1 first leg win with a hard-faught 2-1 reversal in Conakry.

Domestic Knock Out Kings, Dreams FC secured their enviable spot in the CAF Confederations Cup group stage by putting up a stoic display in Sierra Leone to hold Kallon FC to a 1-1 draw to progress on a 3-2 aggregate score after the keenly faught out two legged duel.

The PFAG, as mother body of all professional footballers in the country, wishes to commend the technical benches and entire fanbase of both teams on their successful forays on the continental stage.

An exceptionally hearty message of commendation goes out to the playing body of the two teams for rising above all challenges to make the nation proud once again!

We continue to wish the teams all the best as they take their places among the elite in African football for this season.

The Association remains fully convinced of your abilities to produce even greater exploits in the “money zone” and beyond.

Kudos Meadeama SC!

Well done, Dreams FC!

The PFAG stands with them and for them!!
