Black Stars On The Cusp Of Qualification As They Square Off Against Uruguay

The Senior National Team, The Black Stars will today cross swords with old rivals Uruguay in their final World Cup Group H encounter at the ultra modern Al Janoub Stadium in Qatar.

The Stars are high on confidence following their exciting 3-2 triumph over the Taeguk Warriors of South Korea last Monday, after a controversial close-faught loss to Portugal in the group opener.

A win today against La Celeste will guarantee our Stars a slot in the round of 16, with a draw possibly sufficing unless South Korea beats Portugal by two clear goals in the other Group H encounter to be played concurrently.

The PFAG, as mother body of all professional footballers in the country, remains steadfast in our support for and belief in the ability of Coach Otto Addo and his charges to rise above all challenges to secure sweet success for the nation.

Buoyed by memories from our last encounter 12 years ago in South Africa, we are certain that our boys will run every extra mile and strain every single sinew to claim the victory that will ensure progression to the next phase of the Mundial.

As always, the PFAG stands with and for our Brilliant Black Stars; all through the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar and beyond!..
