The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has commended all individuals and organizations who were adjudged deserving of recognition at the Ghana Football Awards Ceremony 2022.
On a night of glitz and glamour to celebrate the gallant men and women who have excelled over the past year on the Ghanaian football terrain, it was Premier League Champions Asante Kotoko who stole the headlines by scooping an impressive number of the prestigious prizes on offer.
The Porcupine Warriors emerged winners of the Male Team of the Year, Most Vibrant Club on Social Media and The Most Special Fans Awards to go along with accolades of Men’s Coach of the Year and CEO of the Year won by Prosper Ogun and Nana Yaw Amponsah respectively.
AshantiGold hitman Yaw Annor was awarded the Home-Based Footballer of the Year, as well as Goalking for the Ghana Premier League due to his impressive 22 goal haul in the just ended league campaign.
Black Stars and Strasburg robust centre-back, Alexander Djiku was crowned as the overall Footballer of the Year for his sterling showings for both club and country this past year.
There was also the Living Legend Award given to Abedi Ayew Pele and magnanimously collected on his behalf by PFAG General Secretary Anthony Baffoe, who incidentally was the recipient of the same prestigious award last year.
The PFAG continues to support such events which recognize the amazing efforts of all professional footballers in the country. It remains our belief that such events will go a long way to encourage our players to continue giving off their best for mother Ghana.
We wish to congratulate all winners and the organizers on another job well done.
The PFAG continues to remain here with you, and for you!!
