The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has expressed its delight at the latest swashbuckling display by the senior national team, the Black Stars, as they continue on their unblemished journey to the 2021 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroun.
Captain Andre Ayew marked his record equalling 91st cap for Ghana with an exemplary showing, scoring twice to lead the Black Stars to a 2-nil win over Sudan, and a fourth straight victory in AFCON 2021 Qualifying Group C.
The PFAG commends the entire team for a brilliant performance at the Cape Coast Stadium. The Association commends our glorious Stars for delivering such a heart-warming victory on a day when the nation grieved at the news of the demise of ex-president Jerry John Rawlings.
It was indeed an extension of the feel-good spirit that has engulfed football loving Ghanaians following on from the hugely successful “Battle of the Stars” exhibition match jointly organized by the PFAG a few days earlier.
A huge thumbs-up to Head Coach C.K. Akunnor and his technical bench for mapping out an impressive victory despite the absence of key players from the squad. We also wish the entire team the very best as they gear up for the return fixture in far-away Omdurman on the 17th of November.
With the same level of dedication and application, we are certain that our Black Stars will once again emerge victorious and secure their ticket to next year’s African Nations Cup of Nations competition.
The PFAG continues to stand with our Black Stars and for our Black Stars!!
