PFAG Pays Respects to Junior Agogo

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Black Stars fan favourite Manuel Junior Agogo.

Agogo shot to prominence at the 2008 African Cup of Nations here in Ghana, where his determination, passion and goals earned him “poster boy” status throughout the country.

He went on to score 12 goals in 27 appearances for the Black Stars and was oftentimes the toast of many die-hard fans who simply adored him.

On the club scene, Agogo represented 15 clubs in Europe, Africa and the United States including Sheffield Wednesday, Apollon Limassol and Zamalek. His most prolific spell came at Nottingham Forrest FC where he scored over 20 goals for the club between 2006 and 2008.

The thoughts of everyone here at the PFAG are with Agogo’s family and loved ones at this sad time.

We stand with and for the entire Ghanaian professional football fraternity in wishing Agogo eternal rest in the Lord’s bossom.

Manuel Junior Agogo, you were a true Black Star. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
