Out-of-Contract players share the spoils with Premier League select side

The out-of-contract players of Ghana drew 0-0 with a combined strong Ghana Premier League and Division One League select side at the Ajax Park on the University of Ghana campus on Thursday, 27th October 2016.

The match was organised by the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana to help keep players in good shape and to keep their form.

The out-of-contract players started the match with attacking intentions and got their first chance after just 5 minutes when George Ofori shrugged off his opponent on the edge of the box before unleashing a tame shot towards the far post that was easily saved by the goalkeeper of the Premier and Division One League select side.

The out-of-contract players showed a little more urgency in the second half, with Titus firing over a good chance seconds after the restart, but still not enough to merit a victory.

Owusu Michael’s introduction as a substitute for the Bismark Adu saw the out-of-contract players begin to create more chances.

Odenke beat clear a firm strike from Ebenezer Asare and Kesley nodded wide from Abraham’s delivery, but Ghana Premier League and Division One League select side’s defence was rarely stretched in the latter stages of the game.
