PFAG Extends Support to Na God FC Players Following Road Accident

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has reaffirmed its commitment to player welfare with a compassionate visit to Na God FC at their clubhouse in Kwabenya on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The visit follows the unfortunate road accident involving the team at Aboasa, and was aimed at offering both emotional and psychological support as the players continue their recovery journey.

The session began with an interaction led by a clinical psychologist, Sharon Anang Aseweh, who engaged the players in an hour-long group discussion focusing on trauma recovery, coping mechanisms, and mental resilience. The psychologist emphasized the importance of acknowledging emotional pain while drawing strength from unity, teamwork, and shared experiences.

Following the session, a rep from the PFAG Philip Aseweh, Player Relations expressed solidarity and encouragement on behalf of all professional footballers in Ghana. He also ensured the readiness of the association to support all players during difficult times, as part of its broader mission to ensure their holistic development and safety.

The C.E.O of Na God FC, Micheal Kofi Oduro, described the incident as a wake-up call for all football clubs to prioritize safety and ensure the right measures are in place when traveling with their teams. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to PFAG for the timely visit and urged players who are not yet members to join the Association, highlighting the importance of belonging to a strong player body that advocates for their welfare.

The players and staff of Na God FC expressed heartfelt appreciation to PFAG for the visit and for prioritizing their mental health during such a challenging period.

The PFAG continues to champion initiatives that protect and empower professional footballers across Ghana, promoting welfare, education, and mental health awareness within the football community.
