The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has extended its warm congratulations to Police Ladies and Faith Ladies for emerging deserving winners in an action-packed weekend of women’s football at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday May 18, 2025.

 

The teeming fans who defied the heavy downpour to grace the the day’s activities were treated to a thrilling double-header finale, showcasing the best of Women’s football on the domestic scene.

 

The female footballing festivities kicked off with an exciting 2-1 extra-time victory for Faith Ladies over Jonina Ladies in the FA Cup Finale. Faith Ladies have thus ended a difficult season on the highest possible note by claiming bragging rights in the knockout competition.

 

Later in the day, the Women’s Premier League Final delivered yet another gripping encounter as Police Ladies showcased their dexterity to defeat defending champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies 2-0 and lift the coveted title.

 

The PFAG, as mother body for all professional footballers in the country, congratulates stakeholders, organizers, technical teams and fans for a successful women’s football season. We reserve special commendation for all players of the various clubs who held their own over the course of this demanding season. We are indeed proud of the professionalism and excellent performances displayed by our women professional members, who excelled as the central actors on the domestic scene.
