PFAG Revels in Team Ghana’s Success At CAF African Schools Championships

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has hailed the resounding success of the just-ended CAF African Schools Football Championships which came to a historic conclusion in Accra over the weekend.

Ghana’s Black Damsels displayed admirable grit and dexterity to lift the ultimate diadem after defeating Uganda 2-0 in the final of the under 15 girls competition. This victory marks a proud moment for Ghanaian youth football as it capped an impressive winning sequence throughout the tournament for the home team who were making their first ever appearance on this stage.

The under 15 boys competition ended with Tanzania overcoming Senegal on spot kicks to emerge winners. Ghana’s glorious boys team had earlier delighted the vociferous home fans at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium after overcoming a determined Ugandan team to secure their spot on the podium by grabbing the bronze medal on offer.

The PFAG wishes to extend a well deserved pat on the back to the playing body, technical bench and management teams of both Ghana’s representatives, for their excellent performances in the tournament. We admonish the budding talents on show to reach for the stars with discipline and application.

The PFAG continues to support such events which aim at unearthing the amazing potential we have in Ghana and across the continent. We also commend the local and continental organisers for delivering a worthy spectacle that positively projected our nation to the rest of Africa and the entire world at large.
