The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has called on all stakeholders to commit themselves to the highest levels of professionalism and to create a peaceful, convening atmosphere at all match venues as the country’s top flight football league bounces back after a three week hiatus occasioned by acts of hooliganism.
Earlier this week, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced that Ghana Premier League games will recommence at all designated league centres from Saturday 8th March 2025. This conditional resumption of the league is however contingent on heightened safety and security measures.
As mother body for all professional footballers in the country, the PFAG has spent the past three weeks engaging various stakeholders including players and officials on measures to create a safer environment and to weed out all acts of hooliganism and lawlessness at the stadia.
The PFAG is excited at the decision to return to competetive football activities in the country, and wishes all clubs, players and fans the best of luck for the rest of the season.
We remain hopeful that our beautiful game here in Ghana will continue to grow from strength to strength and that all of us as stakeholders will join hands to push for greater professionalism on the domestic scene.
The PFAG is expectant that once these high standards are maintained, our members who are the central players in the game will be granted the most convening of atmospheres to perform and excite us all.
As always, the PFAG stands with them and for them!
