The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana ( PFAG) is deeply saddened by the death of Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong popularly known as ‘Pooley” which sad event happened during the Asante Kotoko game against Nsoatreman at Nsoatre.
On the commemoration of the one week observation of his tragic passing, the PFAG acknowledges the steps taken by the Ghana Police and GFA to restore order and ensure a much safer and secured environment before, during and after games going forward.
The PFAG has been in touch with the leadership of the playing bodies of the two clubs involved and continues to engage others as part of efforts to keep the game clean.
In keeping with the passion that drives us all as players and lovers of the game, we remain committed to fighting hooliganism, violence in all forms, and improving football and its related experiences.
The PFAG sends again our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, Asante Kotoko, and the great supporters and lovers of the game he so graciously represented and call for a full investigation into the incident and to bring the perpetrators into book.
