Ghana’s senior women’s team, the Black Queens have been handed a competitive group phase task as they begin preparations for next year’s Women’s African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The draw which took place on Friday night at the plush Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Sale, Morocco saw the Black Queens placed in Group C alongside defending champions Bayana Bayana of South Africa, Les Aiglonnes of Mali and Tanzania’s Twiga Stars.
Host Nation Morocco will headline Group A and have been joined by the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Senegal.
Perennial WAFCON champions Nigeria have been drawn in Group B to do battle with Tunisia, Algeria and Botswana.
The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), as mother body for all professional footballers in the country is confident in the ability of our Black Queens under the able tutulege of Head Coach Nora Hauptle to prepare strongly for an impressive showing at Africa’s showpiece event slated for July next year.
We wish our Queens all the best, and urge the Team’s handlers to leave no stone unturned in our quest to secure the ultimate glory at WAFCON 2024.
