The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has expressed the Association’s sorrow at learning of the death of renowned former player and coach Michael Osei.
The talented midfielder who burst onto the scene at Okwahu United, made a name for himself in the heart of the Asante Kotoko midfield in the Ghana Premier League.
His energetic exploits earned him a move to Germany’s top flight, where he plied his trade for Bundesliga sides Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Mainz 05.
Michael Osei also excelled in his coaching career later in life. Among his successful stints were tenures at the helm of New Edubiase United, Liberty Professionals and Bibiani Goldstars.
He also rose to the accomplished role of Assistant Coach for the national Olympic Team the Black Meteors, for a five year period until 2023.
The PFAG, as mother body for all professional footballers in the country, is truly saddened to learn of Michael Osei’s untimely demise.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones on behalf of all our members.
May the soul of Michael Osei rest in eternal peace.
As always, the PFAG stands with them and for them.
