Ghanaian female international winger Faustina Kyeremeh has lifted the 2020-2021 Women’s Armenian championship which will see her play in next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League. The Club finished on top of the league table with 41 points.
Faustina, who is former Immigration Ladies FC striker joined FC Hayasa earlier in the year after her exploits locally. Speaking exclusively to the PFAG website ,she stated:
“I didn’t face any real problems when I joined this club but had issues in terms of communicating with my colleagues because of the language barrier. Our head coach speaks English but my teammates and other technical team members can’t speak or write English, neither could I speak their language ”.
“My mates have however been really helpful to me. They try helping me and teaching me their language and I also try my best to teach them English to help in our communication. Luckily, football speaks one language so certain things naturally bonded us together “
“This is my first trophy with the team. When I joined them, they were about to start the second round of the league. I am happy to win the league with them. This is my first trophy and I am really excited”
“I am looking forward to playing in the champions’ league. This is a good opportunity for me to do more, experience more and a dream come true. It is every player’s dream to play in the champions’ league. Our first match in the champions’ league will be on 27th July. I am training hard to make an impact and help my team go far in the competition. This is my first time playing so I owe it to myself ,my family and country to play well”
FC Hayasa will start their UEFA Women’s Champions League against Luxembourg’s side, Racing FC Union Lëtzebuerg on 27th July 2021 before facing them in the second leg on 1st August 2021.
