With local excitement levels gradually building, and Ghanaian hopes for another impressive showing steadily rising, the Black Stars have arrived in Egypt to kick-start their campaign at the African Cup of Nations, Egypt 2019!
Having won the title on 4 previous occasions, the Black Stars touched down in Egypt high on confidence that their 22nd appearance at the biennial continental football fiesta will culminate in glorious success in the grand finale at the end of the month-long showpiece.
Fresh from their detailed training regime in Dubai, the team touched down in Cairo on Thursday and have since arrived in the Egyptian port city of Ismailia where Head Coach Kwesi Appiah will look to fine tune preparations ahead of their Group F opener against Benin.
Captain Andre Ayew was presented with a commemorative welcome plaque by a representative of the Egypt 2019 Local Organizing Committee on arrival at the airport.
Ghana will do battle against Benin, Cameroun and Guinea-Bissau for top spot in Group F from Tuesday 25th of June.
