Perennial Ghana Premier League Champions, Asante Kotoko, have been given the nod to represent Ghana in next season’s continental club competition.
This decision was confirmed by Ghana’s Normalization Committee after extensive deliberations over the past few days as to whether to approve a request submitted by the Porcupine Warriors.
In a letter from the Ghana Football Association signed by Deputy General Secretary Mr. Alex Asante, the Normalization Committee has decided to reverse an earlier decision made by club administrators in a meeting directing that Ghanaian teams were to sit out CAF continental club competition during the 2018/2019 season.
The letter stated that the key feature that prompted the high level rethink was the fact that Kotoko have shown they are properly well-resourced to embark on a continental venture, and have adequately satisfied all club licensing regulations.
The PFAG, mother body of all Ghanaian clubs, welcomes this stance, and assures Kotoko of our continued support as they prepare to once again fly Ghana’s flag high during the 2018/2019 CAF Inter-Club Competition.
