The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Black Queens, Ghana’s senior women’s national team, for securing a remarkable third-place finish at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024.
The Black Queens proudly clinched the bronze medal after edging out defending champions South Africa 4–3 on penalties, following a hard‑fought 1–1 draw.
This outstanding achievement marks Ghana’s first medal at this prestigious continental tournament since the bronze earned in the 2016 edition.
On behalf of all our members, we say AYEKOO to our gallant ladies, who have fought tirelessly to raise the national flag high over the past weeks.
We also applaud Head Coach Kim Björkegren, his technical team, and the administrative staff for their invaluable contributions to this success.
The PFAG deeply admires the dedication, unity, and resilience demonstrated by the Black Queens in flying the nation’s colours with pride on the continental stage.
We are confident that these performances will serve as a launchpad to even greater achievements for the team in the near future.
Congratulations once again to our brave and gallant Black Queens.
As always, the PFAG stands with you and for you!
